Identification
Pale yellow colour frons and face, dark brown to black median stripe on lower three-fifths of the face, black antenna, scutellum with pale hairs,
wing extensively bare, terga 2-4 each with well-separated pair of large pale yellow spots, spots of terga 3 and 4 slightly oblique and with anterior margin
slightly concave (Vockeroth 1992).
Length: 6.3-9.8 mm (Vockeroth 1992)
Biology
Eupeodes volucris is multivoltine. Larvae of Eupeodes volucris feed on several species of aphids (Láska and Starý, 1980).
Distribution
Canada South to California, Texas, Mexico, and Louisiana (Vockeroth 1992).
